Here are some fantastic old film textures, kindly created by Bittbox. They are the second set to accompany 11 Old grungy film textures which can be found on lostandtaken.com. I encourage you all to grab them and add them to your ever growing arsenal of textures!

The following textures were taken in the mid-late 19th century using one of the earliest film techniques: The Daguerreotype. I originally intended this to be a set of Polaroid textures, that was before I stumbled across a bunch of old public domain portraits that are freely available on the web. I thought: “these would work great as textures for layers in digital photos.” The only problem was: the photographs had people as the main subject, disrupting the awesome and rich textures of the film. So I simply removed the people in photoshop. Voila, genuine 19th century film textures for you guys to use. I hope you like them!
