Freepik’s aim is to gather all free, high quality graphics on the Internet and make accessing them quick and easy so you don’t have to waste your time searching manually through hundreds of websites.

How does it work?
The Freepik robots visit hundreds of web pages every day where they browse the free resources and select only the best ones for your use. Once they have selected images they are assessed and listed in order of quality. This ensures that you will always be browsing content of the highest possible quality.

Freepik’s objective is to become a key resource for free images and vectors. Once the user finds what they are looking for they are redirected to the image’s original location therefore benefiting the sites where we find our content too.

I tried a search for ‘flowers’ and it found 1,058 vectors and 8,968 photos. Not bad hey! I think that this is a great resource for web designers and graphic artists who may be working on a low budget and need to find quality images for their design projects.

Processes that would normally appear subtle to the human eye, such as the motion of the sun and stars in the sky, become very pronounced. Here’s a few examples of some excellent videos which use time lapse photography to create beautifully emotive effects.

Time Lapse of the June 17, 2009 Tornadoes
This is a 10x time lapse of the magnificent Grand Island-Aurora, Nebraska supercell and tornadoes, as filmed by storm chasers Dick McGowan and Darin Brunin on June 17, 2009. The tornado was rated an EF-2 by the National Weather Service in Hastings, NE; there were no serious injuries reported.

The museum is showing the original sets made by Peter for the 1970s television series, complete with the front of widow of Emily’s shop where Bagpuss and his friends came to life for generations of children’s TV audiences.
