Free Lolita by Peter Baldwin

A song about the loneliest Orca on the Planet….time to give her a life, before she dies…….

If you saw Lolita it would bring you to tears.
She’s been in that tank in Florida for nearly 50 years.
Lolita is an orca that’s why I sing this song.
Free Lolita! She ain’t done nothing wrong.
Free Lolita! She’s been in there far too long.

She was stole from her mother, when she was 4 years old.
Sold to Miami Seaquarium, put in a goldfish bowl.
That was back in 1970 she’s still there today.

Free Lolita! You took her freedom away.
Free Lolita! Give it back today.
Swimming round in circles, forced to perform.
The rest of the day she wastes away from dusk to dawn.
She hasn’t seen another orca in 37 years.

Free Lolita! You can’t give her back those years.
Free Lolita! I can’t hold back the tears.
Orcas in the wild swim hundreds of miles, the ocean is their home.
Lolita has 80 feet, Lolita is alone.
A slave to entertainment, a slave to the greed of man.

Free Lolita! Let her out the can,
Free Lolita! Why can’t you understand?
Free Lolita!
Free Lolita!

If you saw Lolita, it would bring you to tears.
She’s been in that tank in Florida for nearly 50 years.
Lolita is an orca that’s why I sing this song.
Free Lolita! Put her back where she belongs.
Free Lolita! She ain’t done nothing wrong.
Free Lolita! She’s been there far too long.

Free Lolita!
Free Lolita!
Free Lolita!
Free Lolita!
